Working Conditions are Safe & Hygienic

How to comply  9 - what it looks like in practice

Machines - all workers

  • Incorporate the machines on your site into your risk assessment programme.
  • All repairs and maintenance on machines by both your own staff and contractors should be recorded.
  • You should review the records regularly to identify whether there are recurrent issues with any machines and take action to deal with the issue.
  • All workers working with machines should receive training on how to operate them and how to switch them off in the case of emergency,
  • You should ensure that workers who have not been trained do not operate machinery.
  • All machinery should have emergency stop buttons that can be easily accessed by operators.
